Marketing & Promotions Manager

San Diego, CA

As the Marketing & Promotions Manager at OMG Hospitality Group, I was hired on as the first marketing department head post-pandemic. I began rebuilding the marketing department from the ground-up by organizing and implementing new processes and structures in order to streamline the company’s marketing efforts and maximize each restaurant’s exposure and revenue.

I was responsible for training the social media team and managing both the social and graphic design teams. I worked as the liaison between the management at each our six restaurant concepts and our internal marketing team. I was also the sole project manager for larger scale campaigns and projects, including the grand opening of Moe’s Steakhouse, the debut of the newly redesigned Backyard, and various local advertising campaigns.

In addition to focusing on social, ad, and grassroots campaigns, I prioritized an overall shift in creative content to fit the ever-changing climate of social media marketing, with a strong emphasis on creating high-quality, interactive web and video content. I drove the company’s photo & video production efforts, providing direction to our social media coordinator, local photographers, videographers, and agencies. This was done alongside the process of transforming the look and feel of OMG, Backyard, Moe’s and Waterbar’s websites, which each underwent a full redesign with the help of our design agency.

BLACKTOP RESTAURANT GROUP

Marketing Director

San Diego, California

As Marketing Director, I spearheaded the ground-up construction of the newly formed marketing department at Blacktop Restaurant Group. I implemented new company-wide processes and project management systems and built organized budget and planning tracking sheets to streamline the company’s marketing efforts. I developed high-level marketing initiatives and oversaw all marketing efforts including social, content creation, photoshoots, events, paid advertising, brand partnerships and sponsorships. I also managed our outside marketing agency’s team, providing direction, feedback, and approvals regarding social media strategy, design collateral, advertising, and web, social, and ad platform auditing.

During my time at BRG, I ran several advertising campaigns ranging up to $30k in ad spend, and notably Board & Brew’s & Casero Taqueria’s hiring campaigns which resulted in a total of 66 new hires in just two months. I kicked off Board & Brew’s partnership with Juneshine Kombucha, which led to Board & Brew San Diego's Instagram following nearly doubling in size, the brand’s highest performing content, and a corporate-wide ongoing partnership with Juneshine. In addition, I helped to launch BRG’s newest restaurant concept PureTaco, which quickly gained traction in the North County community as a result of strategic advertising & PR, local outreach, and macro/micro influencer marketing efforts.

At Red Door Interactive, voted one of AdAge's Best Places to Work, I managed monthly content strategy and execution for in-house social media, as well as community management for various clients. This included creative direction and implementation for all online, in-house marketing efforts, paid media, and banner ads. I worked with clients ASICS and SDCCU to provide quality customer service through community management on all social channels, representing clients in a tone and style that was on-brand and on-strategy. I was effectively able to empower customers with knowledge on product options and customized solutions to any problems or issues that were brought to the brand's attention.

For both Red Door and clients alike, I helped initiate, develop, and implement communications strategies to support the organization's objectives. After years of working in-house for clients and brands, I was able to gain an in-depth perspective into agency life and expand my knowledge on key marketing strategies and processes.

At Arrow Electronics, a Fortune 500 company specializing in the distribution of electronic components and computer products, I became an integral part of the OEM Computing Solution team's marketing efforts. I was largely responsible for web content creation, edits, updates, and design. Marketing and Social Media Assistant

For Culinary Connectors, a local premier culinary tour company who's mission is to educate and share the extraordinary culinary talent in Colorado, I worked to maximize the online presence and awareness of both the company and restaurant partners through fresh social media tactics. I managed all social media accounts, working with partners to set social strategy and calendars, and provided analysis and success metrics for social media/content programs.

In addition, I handled all of the company's event logistics and customer service,  and fostered community relationships both online and in-person, working directly on-site on weekly culinary tours. Through this, I built, serviced, and maintained strong client relationships, both new and existing, and consistently worked with partners to meet their business needs. This led to a nomination for Best City Tour on Denver's A-List, a yearly city-wide contest celebrating the city's best local businesses, a nomination the company had not received in it's five years of open business.
